The Best Day of My Life

For 10 years I have said that my wedding day was the best day of my life. No offense to my wonderful hubby, but that day has been trumped. September 18th, 2009 is now officially the best day of my life. Leah Madison Gwaltney started her arrival into our lives at 5:30 am when my doctor came to break my water. We had a scheduled induction due to me being on blood thinners. At about 6 am, I was given medication to start my contractions. By around 7am, I was ready for my epidural. I'm so glad for epidurals! By 8am or so I was 5-6 cm dilated. My wonderful nurse (she was an absolute God-send), came back to check me a little after 9am to discover that I was fully dilated and ready to start pushing. So she started getting the room ready, called the doctor, and we practiced pushing. I pushed for 13 minutes and she entered this world with a big loud cry. I still cry just thinking about it. God has blessed us so much. I can't believe she is here and everything is perfect. I am so happy! It's just amazing how you can love someone so much so fast. Here is a picture of the grandmothers. I'll post some more once we get home. The hospital connection isn't very fast which makes uploading pictures quite frustrating.
